Feeling unseen and unheard can be overwhelming, yet one connection can change everything. This heartfelt journey reveals how courage, support, and compassion can open the door to healing, self-discovery, and hope.
Being the Unheard and Unseen
A voice that feels so loud, yet remains unheard. A heart that beats as it should each day, but quietly screams for help. You see the world around you, yet somehow still feel lost in the dark.
For quite some time, I walked through that experience myself, feeling unseen, unheard, and unsure of who I could turn to. I remember days that felt unbearably heavy, when I longed for someone to hear my silent cries, yet was too afraid of being judged or seen as weak. I could not bring myself to speak about what I was going through and so, I bottled it all inside.
The Realization that Changed My Path
Realizing one day that I could no longer take it, I went in search for a counsellor. Fortunately, things began to shift when I met a counsellor who truly saw me, someone who looked beyond the surface and held space for me without judgment. For the first time, I felt safe enough to let my emotions flow. It was as though a weight I had carried for so long had finally been lifted.
That experience stayed with me. It inspired me to walk this path and offer that same sense of presence to others. During my journey through the Master of Counselling program, I came to realize that even in a heavy world, moments of beauty and healing are still possible. Sometimes, it only takes one person to help you begin.
Creation of the Same Safe Space
Today, as a trainee counsellor, I hope to create a space where you feel safe to share your story. A space where you are seen for who you truly are, and where we can walk through your journey together at your pace. I hold on to the belief that life happens for you, not to you, even when it may not feel that way.
I understand that counselling can feel intimidating. After all, it often means opening up to a stranger in an unfamiliar space. If you feel scared or nervous, that is completely okay. We will begin simply by getting to know each other. From there, our work becomes a collaborative journey, where we gently explore your stories, make sense of what you are going through, and move toward a life that feels more meaningful and aligned with your values.
Remember, you do not have to go through this alone and that you are worthy of being seen too.
